Disable Mozilla Firefox Add-ons
Symptom:
When using Firefox, one of the following occurs:
  • Unable to view pop-up windows
  • Being redirected to an alternate website
  • Unable to access secure websites
Cause:
These issues may be caused by third-party toolbars, add-ons, or browser extensions.
Resolution:
To disable add-ons, perform the following:
  1. Click Tools
    • If there is no Tools menu, press ALT+T on the keyboard
  2. Select Add-ons
    • To Disable Extensions:
      1. On the left, select Extensions
      2. Click the Disable or Remove button next to any unwanted extensions (Ex: AOL, Google, Yahoo!)
      3. Click Restart now above one of the disabled extensions
    • To Disable Plugins:
      1. On the left, select Plugins
      2. On the right, select Never Activate for any unwanted plugins
      3. Completely exit Firefox then open it back up
  3. Once Firefox has been restarted, try accessing the content again
